Holton Super Collegiate Trumpet 1957 - Brushed - Calicchio Case & Holton 67 MP Bore. This horn really plays well, what a great sound! Horn has been stripped, bell dents repaired and a brush finish on what was a rough horn when received. Bell required a lot of work throughout, you can see repair work but she looks excellent overall.
Valves are moving nicely, slides are smooth and 3rd slide moves easily, new Calicchio case and the horn comes with a very nice Holton 67 mouthpiece. This horn was in storage in pieces for almost a decade, I forgot I had it. Brushed finish is raw brass so it will age over time. It is protected with Renaissance wax which will slow the aging process. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns.
Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed.
Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case.
