Olds & Son Super trumpet 1947 with recent valve alignment
Olds & Son Super trumpet. Here is a fairly early Olds Super trumpet made in 1947. It still has the brass tone ring around the bell before they went to nickel silver.
The trumpet is in very nice condition and has a recent valve alignment done by Bob Reeves. It has a golden lacquer finish that is approx 90% good. A previous owner had two brass shops agree that it looks to be original. The case is Olds but probably not original due to the MP receiver sticking out a bit on one end. Valves, slides and spit valves are all in good shape and the horns plays very smooth and is very fluid.It is a lightweight horn often used to play lead parts. It has a third valve slide keeper to prevent the slide from falling off. Olds trumpets are very well made and last a long time. Let me know if you need a mouthpiece for it.
