For sale is the Yamaha YTR6345HS. Around 1990, Yamaha introduced the "Heavy Wall" series. These had a heavier bell than their standard instruments and were denoted by an "H" following the model number -- 6345H.
The original "standard weight" 6-series Bb trumpets, the 6335 and 6345G (Gold Brass bell) are still made today, but the H line evolved into the Zeno trumpets. The horn received a precision valve alignment by Wayne Tanabe in Chicagoland when he was the proprietor of The Brass Bow. He has since joined Yamaha in their Pro division. This is a great playing horn. Here are some other owners thoughts about this fine instrument. Heavyweight Member Joined: 09 May 2004 Posts: 805 Location: St Louis. It's versatile enough to do anything I need it to, and has the most rocking low E-flat I've seen this side of an Artist Model. I don't know if it's been discontinued, or continued as the Mark II version (which to me wasn't as good).
I'm just happy I've got one. Heavyweight Member Joined: 02 Jun 2006 Posts: 1049 Location: Salisbury, MD. I've been playing a 6345HG as my main "legit" horn since I bought it in 1990. I have not found any of the later models (HII, Xeno, Artist series) or other manufacturers to outplay it.
It has a killer sound. I bought it at the 1990 ITG Conference and tried it out with Pierre Thibaud. I think he took one just like it, but silver, home with him as well. I really like the 8310Z for big band & shows because of its great response, so I split most of my time between these two horns. The NYS Bb has tempted me several times, but I still like the 6345HG better and those Artist series horns aren't cheap.I will include a 7C mouthpiece. Look the pictures over carefully. I did see one ding that is highlighted in the last picture.
